What’s your worst holiday story? Flight delays or seeing your relatives?

November 30th, 2007 by World Traveler

Bad weather, traffic and potential flight delays top the list of what Americans dread most about holiday travel, a new MSN-Zogby poll shows.

Worries about bad weather tops the list at 27%, followed by concerns about potential flight delays at 26% and dreading terrible traffic at 23%. Seven percent say they most dread the potential for lost luggage, while 5% worry about getting searched by airport security. But for another 5%, going to see their relatives is what they dread most.

Nearly half of Americans (44%) say their ideal holiday vacation would be visiting family and friends, while 30% say they would rather spend a holiday vacation relaxing at home. But for 17%, flying south for warmer weather would be the best way to spend the holidays, while 4% would most like to hit the slopes at a ski resort.
