Luggage Buying Guide - Framing

December 12th, 2007 by World Traveler

You can’t forget about the framing of your luggage.

For the best combination of durability and weight, go with luggage that has a fiberglass frame. Its very lightweight, yet strong. There are other framing materials used in luggage construction, but they pale in comparison.

Aluminum is probably the next best thing, and there are some decent plastics. Avoid wood frames.
